Overall I really liked most of the book. Well written with good character development.I took a star off because of Lucy's language.Once she found love and got over her anger itimproved.I know her anger caused it but I really don't enjoy f bombs and other curse words. Her irreverence bordered on disgusting.I guess I am old fashioned.The descriptions of Italy and the food was excellent. As an avid reader, I think I've read a LOT of really good books. This one though...it easily ranks in my top five favorites of all time!! The storylines and character development kept me enthralled from the very first chapter. Having traveled to Italy, Ms. Nelson Spielman's vivid and accurate descriptions of Italy transported me right back to the beautiful country. While the story wraps up very nicely with some interesting twists and turns along the way, I can't help but feel this family would make for an epic novel series. I just purchased three more copies to give as gifts. Put this book on your "must read" list!
